Thanks for the comment, Brent!

What you are talking about is definitely available in Notepad++. It's called Syntax Highlighting. Which language are you looking to style? Many people have already created styles for most languages. I must admit that having switched to linux, I do not use Notepad++ anymore. Try a Google search with the language name and the phrase syntax highlighting notepad++. I'm sure you will find what you are looking for!

What I'm currently looking for is away to define custom "styles" so I can style certain keywords differently than the others. For example, in Dreamweaver, my main editor, words such as "if", "else", "switch", "return", etc. are coloured green by default and other keywords like functions are coloured blue. It's able to differentiate between different keywords. Notepad++ just colours them all the same. I can live with it, but my OCD is killing me haha :P

Paul,

I'd never heard of Pragmata TT before. It looks pretty cool. I'm still using Consolas and I'm finding a few rough spots with it. Unfortunately, I am running Linux now and it seems that Pragmata TT is commercially licensed by MS. Thanks for the tip though!
